Workshop on tape development

A successful workshop on tape development was held on 17th March 2010 at KIT in Karlsruhe, Germany.

The scope of this workshop, organized by SP1 leader (IVF), was to make people working in basic research aware of the needs and expectations in the area of recent development in tapes processes such as tape casting, calendaring. A focus was given to dispersion methods, tapes formulation, drying and plasticity modelling as well as on advanced tapes with properties suitable for embossing, printing, lamination, debinding and sintering for application to Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS).

Therefore, experts in the field of high precision manufacturing of ceramics were invited to deliver some keynote lectures during a half-day meeting at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), wbk Institut für Produktionstechnik, in Karlsruhe (Germany).

This public event was jointly held with the 18M meeting of the MULTILAYER project (2010, 17th-19th November). 35 people attended this public seminar. You can download the pdf versions outlining the delivered lectures.

The next MultiLayer workshop on "Tape 3D structuring" will be held on 8th November 2010 in Turin.
