Wroclaw University of Technology is one of the biggest and best universities in Poland. It employs about 2000 university teachers and performs lectures for more than 33 000 students. The Faculty of Microsystem Electronics and Photonics has a personnel of about 110 employees. The most important research activity of the Faculty is concerned on the fields: LTCC, thick- and thin-film circuits, technology of electronic equipment and apparatus, interconnecting and packaging, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, microwave semiconductor devices, silicon micromechanics, epitaxial layers, ion and plasma techniques, electro-beam methods of surface examinations.

Description of the department involved in the project: The major areas of LTCC research in the Microsystems and Photonics Division: Investigation of physicochemical and electrical properties of LTCC integrated components, Application of laser for fine line patterning and 3D structuring of LTCC tapes, Investigation of tape processing (lamination, sintering), Modelling of temperature, stress field and fluid flow in LTCC and thick-film modules, LTCC sensors, packaging, microsystems, microfluidic, microheater and microcooling systems, Applications of LTCC technology in optoelectronics.
