As one of three elite universities in Germany, the profile of Universität Karlsruhe(UNIKARL) is determined primarily by the technical and natural sciences. The oldest German technical university’s spectrum of scientific excellence on which it has founded and consolidated its worldwide success is further complemented by the architecture program, which is closely interwoven with engineering and the technological sciences and which is represented in research and teaching.

With almost 80 employees the UniKarl Institute of Production Science is one of the largest institutes at the Universität Karlsruhe and an established part of the mechanical engineering faculty. Our main activities are centered on education and application oriented research of manufacturing engineering, machine tools, handling technology and production systems.
